Lagos State Government reopens Alaba Rago Market in Ojo on Monday, after it adhered to sanitation guidelines.
The market had been temporarily closed last week due to environmental violations. Mr. Tokunbo Wahab, the Commissioner for the Environment and Water Resources, confirmed the reopening and stressed the importance of all markets maintaining high environmental standards.
He underlined the government’s commitment to a cleaner and more livable state.
Dr. Muyiwa Gbadegesin, the Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer of the Lagos Waste Management Authority, emphasized that the reopening does not signal leniency toward environmental violations, as Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu’s administration maintains a strict zero-tolerance policy.
