EFCC Arrests 69 Suspected Internet Fraud In Osun State.

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has reported the apprehension of 69 individuals suspected of engaging in internet fraud in Ile-Ife, Osun State.

The announcement was made on the EFCC’s website on Wednesday, November 1, 2023. Unfortunately, no additional information regarding the arrests or the identities of the suspects has been disclosed thus far.

Additionally, it has come to light that the EFCC conducted a separate operation, arresting approximately 70 students from Obafemi Awolowo University in a midnight raid on off-campus hostels.

These students are allegedly involved in fraudulent internet-related activities, though no further details regarding this incident have been provided by the EFCC.

In response to these arrests, the National Association of University Students (NAUS) has condemned the actions of the EFCC, labeling the raid as illegal and a violation of the students’ rights.

NAUS has called for the immediate release of the students and the return of their confiscated belongings.

They also demand an investigation into the conduct of the EFCC officials involved in the operation.

Furthermore, the EFCC has released a list of the names of the suspects, which includes Dankuwo Eniola Erioluwa, Mustapha Monsuru Oluwanisola, Adeyeye Timilehin Ebenezer, Toromade Hammed Adedeji, and many others.

The full list is extensive and comprises several individuals allegedly involved in internet fraud activities.
