Ambassador John Metchie, the Prime Minister of Anambra State Association of Town Union (ASATU) and African Director of the International Association of World Peace Advocates (IAWPA), expressed deep sadness over the passing of Prof. Ben Nwabueze, the former Secretary General of Ohaneze Ndigbo, a prominent Igbo socio-cultural group.
In a statement released on Thursday, Ambassador Metchie conveyed his condolences to His Excellency, High Chief Engr. Emmanuel Iwuanyanwu, the President-General of Ohaneze Ndigbo worldwide, as well as the entire leadership of the organization and the global Igbo community, both within Nigeria and abroad.
He commended Prof. Nwabueze as an exceptional legal expert who made a significant impact on the legal profession, not only in Nigeria but also on the international stage.
Metchie highlighted Prof. Nwabueze’s distinguished career as a former Federal Minister, Senior Advocate of Nigeria, and prolific author of numerous books and essays. He emphasized that the late legal luminary devoted his life to serving humanity and displayed an unwavering commitment to his profession.
