Nigerian musician and songwriter, Adewale Emmanuel, better known as Mayorkun, recently expressed his profound admiration for Olamide, the well-known figure from YBNL, on his Snapchat platform.
Mayorkun openly acknowledged Olamide as a significant source of inspiration for his songwriting skills, highlighting that Olamide’s influence had enlightened him about the fact that effective songwriting need not be exclusively in English.
In a freestyle performance captured in an accompanying video, Mayorkun credited Olamide as the inspiration behind one of his songs, Mu Emu, which Olamide had released in 2013.
This revelation coincided with the release of Mayorkun’s EP titled Love… For Free, underscoring the continuous growth and evolution of his musical journey under the influence of talented artists like Olamide.
