Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan was officially sworn in as the Senator for Kogi Central following the Court of Appeal’s decision to nullify Senator Abubakar Ohere’s election.
The Independent National Electoral Commission was directed to issue her a certificate of return.
Senate President Godswill Akpabio presented her with a copy of the Senate Standing Rules and extended his congratulations.
Subsequently, she was escorted to her seat by the Senate Sergeant at Arms. Senator Ohere’s appeal against the tribunal’s verdict was dismissed by the Court of Appeal, and he was also ordered to pay N500,000 in costs.
