Students of Tai Solarin University of Education took to their campus to protest a recent tuition fee hike, expressing their concerns about the impact on their education affordability.
The increase was announced through the student portal, causing frustration among the student body.
The fee hike affected both new and returning students, with a more substantial increase for new students, particularly those studying non-education courses.
Students believe the school management’s decision doesn’t consider the country’s economic situation, and they fear the increased fees will hinder their educational progress.
The protest signifies their determination to advocate for more affordable and accessible education, viewing it as a fundamental right.
The student union’s president calls for unity and solidarity among students to oppose the fee increase and demand a change in the university’s policy. They aim to stand up against what they perceive as an injustice.
