An investigation has been initiated into the explosion and fire incident at the Canadian High Commission in Abuja, Nigeria.
Canada, in solidarity with the US and UK, has released a travel advisory discouraging nonessential travel to Nigeria.
Tragically, two individuals lost their lives, and two others sustained injuries during the fire outbreak, as reported by Vanguard.
In response to the situation, Canadian Foreign Minister Melanie Joly expressed her condolences to the victims of the explosion.
The Canadian High Commission in Nigeria has temporarily ceased its operations due to the volatile security conditions in the country.
They have cited concerns related to terrorism, criminal activities, conflicts, armed assaults, and abductions as the reasons for this decision.
