Tinubu Vows Support for Traditional Rulers Amid Growing Insecurity Concerns

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu expressed his commitment to supporting traditional rulers in fostering peace and security within their realms.

He advocated for a constitutional role for these leaders, suggesting that the National Assembly should enact legislation to formalize their support.

This declaration occurred during the 70th birthday celebration of Oba Victor Kiladejo in Ondo town.

President Tinubu, represented by Interior Minister Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, praised the Ondo monarch for 17 years of peaceful rule and commended the town’s progress under his reign.

President Tinubu urged ongoing support for the traditional ruler, acknowledging the monarch’s assistance to agencies and officials within his domain.

The President highlighted Oba Kiladejo’s remarkable transition from a successful private medical practice in Lagos to ascending the throne in 2006, emphasizing the kingmakers’ wisdom in their unanimous choice.

Governor Oluwarotimi Akeredolu joined in the accolades, expressing gratitude for the invaluable and development-focused counsel provided by the Ondo monarch to his administration. He extended wishes for Oba Kiladejo’s continued good health and divine wisdom in leading Ondo Kingdom and the state as a whole. The narrative concluded with President Tinubu expressing hope for the monarch’s prosperous and fruitful reign in the years to come.
