The Federal Government criticized organized labor for the nationwide strike declared in response to the attack on NLC President Joe Ajaero.

Special Assistant Kamarudeen Ogundele stated that the strike was not in the country’s interest, emphasizing the need for economic recovery.

TUC President Festus Osifo argued that the lack of an apology from Imo State Governor Hope Uzodimma contributed to the strike’s continuation, noting incomplete adherence in several states.

Osifo defended the strike’s success based on their assessment and warned of further shutdowns if the government delayed.

Despite partial compliance in some states, Lagos, Rivers, Kwara, Bauchi, Zamfara, and others fully operated, with schools, banks, and offices open.

The strike, protesting the alleged brutalization of Ajaero, witnessed varied responses across the nation, including defiance in Lagos and ongoing exams at Lagos State University.
