The Family of seven years old girl finds her family seeking justice after their seven-year-old relative was reportedly sexually abused by a neighbor in Ikorodu, Lagos State.
The family is dismayed by the release of the alleged perpetrator without proper prosecution, citing overcrowded correctional centers.
The girl’s aunt, Adeola Adesanya, expressed concern over the police’s handling of the case, emphasizing the importance of ensuring justice for her orphaned niece.
Despite providing evidence of the assault, Adesanya fears that the current trajectory may lead to justice being denied.
Attempts to obtain comments from the Lagos Police Public Relations Officer, Benjamin Hundeyin, were unsuccessful.
