In Sokoto state, a deadly confrontation unfolded when local youths resisted a bandit attack on their community last Saturday, as reported by the Nigerian Police Force, Sokoto State Command.
Ahmad Rufai, the spokesperson for the state command, disclosed that the bandits attempted to raid the Kwakwala community in Sokoto but faced fierce opposition from the community’s youths, leading to a gun battle.
Rufai detailed the incident, stating, Approximately ten suspected bandits, armed with machetes and shotguns, targeted a community behind the main campus of Usmanu Danfodiyo University in Sokoto.
The local youths bravely resisted the assault, resulting in the tragic death of Usman and injuries to four other individuals from the Kwalkwala and Dundaye communities, he added.
