The Nasarawa State chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) expressed discontent with the recent Appeal Court decision, which overturned the Nasarawa State Election Petition Tribunal Judgment confirming Sule Abdullahi as governor.

The party, respecting the judiciary, stated that the Appeal Court’s decision contradicts the facts presented during the tribunal proceedings.

According to Hon. Francis Enokela Orogu, the PDP state chairman, the party’s legal team has identified substantial grounds for appeal, prompting the decision to seek a thorough review of the judgment at the Supreme Court.

The statement affirms the party’s faith in the legal system and its commitment to upholding the democratic process, emphasizing the belief that the election results, as established by the tribunal, truly reflect the will of the people in Nasarawa State.

Despite the temporary setback, Orogu urged party members and supporters to remain calm and have faith in the democratic institutions and judicial system of Nigeria.

The statement acknowledges the support received during this period and underscores the PDP’s unwavering commitment to democratic principles and the pursuit of justice for the people of Nasarawa State.
