UNICEF has empowered 500 teenage girls and boys in Kaduna State with practical, gender-neutral skills to enhance their employability.

The program, executed by the Kaduna State Ministry of Education in ten selected secondary schools, focused on fostering creativity, problem-solving, and critical thinking.

Artisans and professionals conducted a five-day event, teaching skills such as shoemaking, cap making, bag making, life skills, coding, and robotics.

The initiative spanned 10 schools in areas like Kaduna North, Kaduna South, Chikun, and Igabi LGAs, with 50 enthusiastic students from various classes participating in each school.

Despite resource limitations, the students’ eagerness to learn showcased their commitment to acquiring valuable skills for independent success.

The inclusion of both boys and girls in this initiative reflects the program’s commitment to benefiting all students.

Notably, students at Government Secondary School (GSS) Television in Kaduna demonstrated genuine excitement for learning these essential skills.
