Nigeria’s Information Minister, Mohammed Idris, addressed concerns over the substantial 422-member delegation attending COP28 in Dubai.
He emphasized that Nigeria’s prominent representation aligns with its status as Africa’s largest economy and its significant stake in climate action.
The diverse delegation, comprising government officials, civil society representatives, and youth advocates, aims to actively engage in advocating for a fair transition to a low-carbon economy.
Nigeria’s vulnerability to climate issues, coupled with its economic standing, justifies its robust participation at COP28, providing opportunities for investment and partnerships to tackle climate challenges.
The Federal Government’s funding supports a delegation with members from various entities, reflecting a comprehensive approach to address climate concerns.
