Niger Police Launch Manhunt for Mother of Abandoned Newborn

The Niger State Police Command is actively searching for the mother who abandoned her newborn by the roadside in a Minna village.

The baby, discovered in Tayi, Minna, was infested by soldier ants, prompting neighbors to rescue him.

Wasiu Abiodun, the State Police Public Relations Officer, stated that investigations are ongoing to identify the lady responsible for dumping the baby.

The State Child Rights Agency has taken custody of the infant and ensured he receives medical attention, according to Abiodun.

As of now, no arrests have been made in connection with the incident.
