The House of Representatives Public Accounts Committee has committed to scrutinizing the 192 projects undertaken by the Federal Roads Maintenance Agency (FERMA) using the N60bn COVID-19 funds.

FERMA’s Managing Director, Emeka Agabasi, revealed at the hearing that 186 projects across six geo-political zones were completed, leaving six unfinished.

Lawmakers expressed dissatisfaction with the documents provided, emphasizing the need for comprehensive information.

Additionally, the committee questioned the Chief Medical Director of the University of Port Harcourt Teaching Hospital, Prof Henry Ugboma, regarding the utilization of N949m COVID-19 intervention funds. Chairman Bamidele Salam noted discrepancies in the released funds, urging Prof Ugboma to furnish the committee with all relevant documents, including approvals from the Federal Executive Council and the Bureau of Public Procurement.
