Dr. Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala, the Director-General of the World Trade Organisation (WTO), holds the title of Africa’s most powerful woman, securing the 87th position in Forbes’ 20th annual list.
Noteworthy individuals on the list include Tanzanian President Samia Hassan (93rd) and Nigerian media mogul Mo Abudu (98th).
The top rank for the world’s most powerful woman in 2023 is claimed by Ursula von der Leyen, President of the European Commission, recognized for impactful decisions influencing the lives of 450 million Europeans.
Following closely is Christine Lagarde, the President of the European Central Bank, holding the second position.
