In an unfortunate incident on Tuesday at the Kara axis of the Lagos-Ibadan expressway around 5 am, ten individuals lost their lives, and seven others sustained injuries.
The accident involved an ash-coloured Toyota Hiace bus (registration number FKY898YF) and an orange truck. According to Florence Okpe, the spokesperson for the Ogun State Sector Command of the Federal Roads Safety Corps, the suspected cause of the crash was excessive speed.
The injured were taken to the hospital, and the deceased bodies were deposited at Idera Morgue, Sagamu.
The Sector Commander, CC Anthony Uga, expressed sorrow over the avoidable crash, highlighting the importance of drivers taking a 15-minute rest for every four hours of driving to prevent fatigue-related accidents.
