Rivers Assembly Complex Demolished:Governor Fubara Unveils Budget Amid Tight Security.

The state government orchestrated the demolition of the assembly complex, tightly secured, about two months after a fire incident.

Led by the governor, a convoy with 10 bulldozers entered the premises at 6:45 am. Moscow road saw heightened security, blocking vehicular traffic.

Notably, there was no recurrence of the governor being tear-gassed as foot traffic was allowed. Commissioner of Police Tunji Disu held a security meeting, promising a briefing later.

Amid defections, 27 members loyal to Amaewhule shifted allegiance to PDP in response to grassroots politicians leaving APC and SDP.

Notable defectors include SDP’s deputy governorship candidate Patricia Ogbonnaya and former APC Chairman Karibo Wilson, aligning with the PDP group supporting Fubara.
