The Information Minister emphasized that the Federal Government played no role in the conflict between Wike and Fubara in Rivers state.
He clarified that the crisis involving the FCT Minister, certain members of the Rivers State House of Assembly, and Governor Fubara was not orchestrated by the federal government.
The turmoil resulted in 27 lawmakers defecting from the PDP to the APC, prompting the state Legislature to declare their seats vacant.
The Minister highlighted that Wike’s position was his own and did not reflect the official stance of the federal government.
Reiterating the government’s commitment to peace and tranquility, especially in Rivers state, the Minister affirmed the willingness to collaborate with all parties involved.
However, he underscored that the federal government did not instigate the events in Rivers; rather, they were rooted in pre-existing political issues within the state.
Emphasizing the government’s dedication to fostering peace and stability nationwide, the Minister reiterated that the crisis in Rivers state was not a product of federal government intervention.
