Soba, an autonomous community in Lagos, came alive as David’s Christian Centre kicked off its 10th Annual Christmas 1000X Better event. The vibrant crowd from Soba, Abule-Oshun, and Abule-Ado eagerly anticipated an enriching experience.
Christmas 1000X Better is an annual outreach initiative by David’s Christian Centre aimed at enhancing the Christmas celebrations for underprivileged families and vulnerable individuals in selected communities.
Providing spiritual engagement, free medical check-ups, and food supplies, the event has touched over 8000 families and approximately 32,000 individuals annually since its inception in 2014.
Led by Dr. Kingsley Okonkwo and Mildred-Kingsley Okonkwo, David’s Christian Centre envisions raising victorious individuals through insightful teachings.
The ministry, with two worship centers in Lagos, has consistently impacted communities by providing infrastructural facilities and engaging in projects such as school renovations and medical checks.
The 10th edition targeted 2000 families in Abule-Ado, Abule-Oshun, and Soba. Medical check-ups and food supplies, including rice, groundnut oil, tomato paste, fish cans, spaghetti packs, spices, and more, were distributed.
Children enjoyed grooming sessions, including hair plaiting for girls and trendy haircuts for boys, alongside games and party packs.
Residents expressed deep appreciation for the medical checks, food bundles, and arrangements for the children, showering blessings on the church.
Looking ahead to the new year, Gaining Momentum promises a wholesome start from January 2nd to January 7th, 2024 – an event not to be missed.
