Daniel Igali, Bayelsa State’s Commissioner for Sports, expressed pride in Nigeria’s athletes for their remarkable achievements at the 2022 Commonwealth Games in Birmingham, England.
With a total of 28 medals – 12 gold, nine silver, and seven bronze – Igali hailed it as the country’s best performance in decades.
He credited the athletes’ resilience, courage, and determination, emphasizing the crucial role played by coaches and support staff.
Igali urged the government to increase investment in sports development, envisioning a future where succeeding generations can build upon the current athletes’ success.
