Minister Advocates For The Creation Of A National Museum And Theatre In Abuja.

The Ministry of Art, Culture, and the Creative Economy, under the leadership of Hannatu Musawa, has initiated efforts towards establishing a national museum and National Theatre within a proposed Creative City situated in Abuja.

The disclosure was made in a statement released on Friday morning by her Special Assistant on Media, Nneka Ikem.

Addressing the Senate Committee on Arts, Culture, and the Creative Economy, Musawa highlighted that prioritizing the construction of these cultural structures aimed at fostering employment opportunities.

She underscored that achieving this objective hinges on the Senate’s approval of the 2024 Appropriation Budget.

Furthermore, the Minister acknowledged the ministry’s financial constraints and urged the Senate Committee to augment its budget allocation for the fiscal year 2024.

Emphasizing alignment with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda, Musawa committed the ministry to contributing N100bn to the nation’s GDP by 2030.

She outlined key projects, including the construction of a National Theatre and National Museum in Abuja, as integral components of this agenda.

Musawa’s statement underscored the Ministry’s steadfast commitment to enhancing Nigeria’s development through a diverse range of planned projects.
