On Tuesday , Boko Haram insurgents attacked Chibok town in Borno State, killing two people and injuring several others.
The town gained global attention in April 2014 when insurgents kidnapped over 300 students from the Government Girls Secondary School.
The recent attack occurred around 7 p.m., prompting residents to flee into surrounding bushes as insurgents shot, burned houses, and looted food items.
Moses Adamu, a local resident, reported that many spent the night in the bushes, while some sought refuge in neighboring communities.
Although two deaths are confirmed, the total casualties remain uncertain as returning residents provide updates.
The Borno State Police Command acknowledged the attack, noting a swift joint response from the military, police, and local vigilante.
Unfortunately, two individuals, Mr. Badi (75) and Ngule (45), lost their lives during the attack. The situation has now returned to normal, according to the state Police Public Relations Officer, ASP Nahum Kenneth.
