Anambra State police successfully repelled attacks in Aguata and Orumba South, killing three gunmen and rescuing a victim last Thursday. Police Commissioner Aderemi Adeoye confirms the operation’s success.
In a subsequent raid at Ogboji, Orumba South, the police eliminated three gang members and rescued another victim based on intelligence reports.
The security forces also thwarted a further attack in Orumba South on Saturday, rescuing a 51-year-old kidnap victim.
The police operation uncovered a stash of weapons, including a Lexus SUV, IEDs, pump actions, and live cartridges at the hoodlums’ camp in Orumba South.
Following thorough investigations and pursuit of assailants, the police located the gang’s hideout at Ogboji, Orumba South, on Sunday.
A shootout ensued during the engagement, resulting in the successful rescue of the 51-year-old kidnap victim.
Tragically, Enugu State police officers, on a special mission in Orumba South, lost their lives during the operation, making the ultimate sacrifice.
Despite this, the police are determined to continue the manhunt for the assailants in Orumba South and criminals across Anambra State.
