NDLEA’s Tincan Special Area Command Records Major Drug Seizures And Convictions In 2023.

In 2023, the Tincan Special Area Command of the NDLEA successfully seized 876.453 kg of illicit drugs, including 24kg of cocaine, 852.45kg of cannabis, and 0.003kg of tramadol. This operation led to the arrest of 15 suspects, with 10 individuals subsequently convicted in court.

These achievements can be attributed to the command’s unwavering commitment, involving rigorous investigations that resulted in the apprehension of drug traffickers and the dismantling of their networks.

The Tincan special area command has proven instrumental in combating illicit drug smuggling and capturing criminals. Their efforts have yielded multiple successful seizures and arrests, showcasing their dedication to eradicating drug-related crimes.

One notable operation at Tincan port involved the seizure of 161.5kg of cannabis and the interception of $22,900 in attempted bribe money.

The drugs were ingeniously concealed within used vehicles imported from Canada, highlighting the sophisticated tactics employed by traffickers.
