Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, has urged the Super Eagles to clinch the Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) title, providing solace to Nigerians amidst economic challenges.
Speaking at a special dinner at Lagos House, Marina, Sanwo-Olu emphasized the team’s role as the country’s unifiers and expressed confidence in their ability to overcome obstacles, calling on them to write their names in gold.
The governor highlighted the importance of sports as a healing tool and urged the players to embody patronage and patriotism, assuring them of the support of over 220 million Nigerians.
Notable figures present included the Minister of Sports, Senator John Enoh, and the Chairman of the Nigeria Football Federation, Ibrahim Musa Gusau.
