COAS Pledges To Address Security Challenges In Enugu, Acknowledges State’s Support.

Lt. Gen. Taoreed Lagbaja, the Chief of Army Staff, has affirmed the Army’s commitment to enhancing security in critical areas of Enugu State, including Isi-Uzo Local Government Area.

He praised the state’s collaboration in combating insecurity and expressed gratitude for the support received from the government and people, particularly in aiding various army deployments.

Governor Peter Mbah, in response, lauded the Army’s substantial assistance in bolstering security efforts aligned with the state’s economic growth goals.

He emphasized the need for a military barracks in Isi-Uzo to ensure lasting security. Lt. Gen. Lagbaja assured that the Army Headquarters would address identified challenges, reinforcing the commitment to creating a stable and secure environment for lawful activities.

During a working visit to the Government House, Enugu, Lt. Gen. Lagbaja highlighted ongoing efforts to assess troop deployments nationwide, emphasizing the alignment of the Nigerian Army’s objectives with those of the Enugu State government.

Governor Mbah reiterated his administration’s dedication to fulfilling promises, acknowledging the pivotal role of the Army in achieving the state’s economic growth targets.

Mbah assured continuous government support for enhancing security and recognized the multifaceted approach required, including non-kinetic strategies, to address challenges effectively.
