In a recent ruling, the Supreme Court affirmed the victory of Adamawa State Governor Ahmadu Fintiri in the March 18 governorship election, dismissing an appeal by the Social Democratic Party and its candidate, Umar Ardo.
The court’s decision followed the withdrawal of the appeal by SDP’s counsel, Sylvester Imhanobe, during the proceedings.
Earlier rejections by the Adamawa State Governorship Election Petitions Tribunal and the Court of Appeal in Abuja were cited, emphasizing the compliance of the election with the Electoral Act 2022.
