Ladi Adebutu, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) candidate, has appealed the outcome of the March 2023 Ogun State governorship election, where Dapo Abiodun of the All Progressives Congress (APC) emerged victorious.
The Supreme Court, led by Justice Inyang Okoro, is yet to deliver its judgment after both parties presented their arguments. Earlier, a split decision at the Court of Appeal upheld Abiodun’s win, with Justice Habeeb Abiru dissenting from the majority’s decision.
Adebutu had contested the results, citing irregularities and electoral malpractices, but his initial challenge at the Ogun Governorship Election Petitions Tribunal was dismissed for lacking merit in September.
