Federal Government Vows Action And Transparency Following Ibadan Gas Explosion.

The Minister of Solid Minerals Development, Mr Dele Alake, assured the public that the results of the forensic investigation into the recent Ibadan gas explosion would be made public.

During a visit to the explosion site, he pledged accountability for those responsible and fair compensation for the victims.

Minister Alake emphasized a thorough investigation with swift implementation of findings, proactive measures to prevent future incidents, and transparency in sharing the report with the public.

Acknowledging public concern, the Minister assured that the government would not withhold the report, emphasizing transparency and accountability.

He reassured the public of the government’s commitment to preventing future disasters. During a visit to Governor Seyi Makinde, Minister Alake expressed condolences, commended the Governor’s response, and affirmed the state government’s cooperation in the investigation.

Minister Alake urged patience as the investigation progresses, assuring that accountability and compensation would follow the report’s release. Governor Makinde echoed the call for calm and committed to collaboration for a timely conclusion.

While no specific timeframe was provided, the Minister emphasized rapid progress and collaboration with stakeholders.

Addressing gas sector regulation, Minister Alake highlighted ongoing efforts to prevent future incidents. He stressed the importance of public awareness, vigilance, and adherence to safety standards.
