NDLEA Made Significant Arrests And Seizures Related To Illicit Drugs.

The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) recently made significant arrests and seizures related to illicit drugs. In Lagos, a driver was apprehended, and large consignments of Loud cannabis, originating from Ghana, were seized from two trucks and a J5 bus.

The total weight of the confiscated cannabis amounted to 14,524.8 kilograms. The drugs were cleverly concealed in compartments within the vehicles.

The driver, Akeem Kareem, was taken into custody, and the seized drugs were linked to a wanted drug baron named Suleiman Jimoh, also known as Olowo Idi Ogede or Temo.

Additionally, other drug-related arrests were made across various parts of Nigeria. These include the apprehension of a deaf and dumb suspect selling 150 grams of cannabis in Zaria, Kaduna State, as well as the arrest of Ibrahim Sani in possession of 51 kilograms of cannabis in the Tirkaniya area of Kaduna State.

The NDLEA also detailed arrests and drug seizures in Delta, Ekiti, Ondo, Taraba, Kano, and other states.

Furthermore, in Kogi State, operatives destroyed 833.32 kilograms of cannabis sativa on a two-acre plot of farmland in Iluke, Kabba-Bunu LGA, and arrested the owner, Samuel Atonila.

Additionally, in Nasarawa State, three suspects—Muhammed Musa, Bilyaminu Musa, and Sadiya Ya’u—were arrested with 24.4 kilograms of cannabis in Uke, Karu LGA. In Owo, Ondo State, 258 kilograms of cannabis were also seized.
