Tragic Accident In Osun State:Bus Driver Faints, Causes Fatal Crash.

A distressing incident unfolded in Osun State as a mini bus driver, whose identity remains undisclosed, collapsed while operating a public transport vehicle.

The driver was in charge of a Korope, a common type of mini commercial bus in Nigeria, ferrying passengers to their destinations when the unfortunate event occurred.

The cause of the driver’s collapse remains unknown, prompting an ongoing investigation.

The aftermath of the accident saw at least four individuals sustain varying degrees of injuries as the bus veered off the road and collided with a parked vehicle in Osogbo, the state capital.

Prompt medical attention was provided to the injured, who were swiftly transported to a nearby hospital for treatment. Meanwhile, authorities are diligently probing the circumstances surrounding the accident.

The collision occurred near the Ola-iya overhead bridge, resulting in the tragic demise of the driver and injuries to some passengers.

Eyewitnesses described the scene as chaotic, with first responders rushing to aid the injured and secure the area. Details from eyewitness accounts depict a collision involving a mini Intercity bus and a Toyota Camry private car, leading to the unfortunate loss of life and injuries.

One source, Funmilayo, disclosed that the accident involved five individuals, with one fatality and four rescues.

The deceased, identified as the male driver of the mini bus, succumbed to the crash, while the survivors, including passengers from the mini bus and the owner of the Toyota Camry, received medical attention.

Investigations into the accident’s cause continue, with authorities maintaining discretion regarding the identities of those involved.

Eyewitnesses recounted harrowing moments as passengers attempted to avert disaster, with one managing to steer the vehicle before it collided with the parked Toyota Camry.

The Sector Commander of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) in Osun State, Henry Benamaisia, confirmed the driver’s fainting episode, expressing condolences to the bereaved family.

The FRSC is actively collaborating with local authorities to ascertain the accident’s cause and extend support to the affected individuals and their families.
