17 Suspects Paraded By Ebonyi State Police For Various Crimes.

The Ebonyi State police recently paraded 17 suspects, including individuals involved in serious crimes such as kidnapping, murder, and armed robbery.

Among the apprehended suspects are those responsible for the tragic murder of three Catholic worshippers at the Immaculate Conception Parish in Abakaliki, Ebonyi State, just a day before Christmas. Additionally, those linked to the abduction of US returnees in Afikpo have also been apprehended and presented to the public for identification.

According to DSP Joshua Akandu, the State Police Public Relations Officer, Friday Igwe and Nnabugwe Ebube are directly linked to the killing of the three parishioners at Immaculate Catholic Conception Parish in Nkwagu, Abakaliki.

The suspects were captured shortly after the incident, and the police have recovered the stolen vehicle, a black Toyota Corolla, belonging to one of the victims.

In an interview, Njoku Michael, one of the kidnappers involved in the abduction of American returnees, provided insights into the crime, stating that they collected a ransom of N40 million before releasing the victims.

Njoku clarified that while four individuals were involved in the kidnapping, only two were captured by the police.

The captured suspects are assisting the police in further investigations to apprehend other perpetrators involved in these heinous crimes.
