The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has launched a robust initiative to combat dollar invoicing and currency mutilation in Lagos and Port Harcourt.
According to EFCC spokesperson Dele Oyewale, proprietors of private universities and other institutions charging fees in dollars have been summoned for questioning.
In response to these illicit activities, the EFCC has deployed Special Task Forces across its zonal commands.
These task forces, sanctioned by EFCC Chairman Ola Olukoyede, are tasked with upholding laws against currency mutilation and the dollarization of transactions.
The primary objective is to protect the economy from exploitation, leaks, and distortions that pose risks of instability and disruption.
