Commencing today, the funeral proceedings for the late Governor of Ondo, Rotimi Akeredolu, kick off with a Winning Soul Crusade at the MKO Abiola Democracy Park in Akure, the state capital, starting at 5 p.m.
This information was disclosed by Richard Olatunde, former spokesman of the deceased, in an announcement.
Akeredolu, who peacefully passed away in his sleep on December 26, 2023, while undergoing treatment for prostate cancer at a hospital in Germany, has been fondly remembered and revered since his demise.
His tenure, which spanned from February 24, 2017, until his passing, was marked by a relentless pursuit of the well-being of the people of Ondo State.
In the face of persistent insecurity and the menace of killer herdsmen in the Southwest region, Governor Akeredolu fearlessly championed the cause of the people, ensuring their safety and defending their rights.
His legacy as a dedicated leader committed to good governance and the welfare of his constituents endures beyond his physical presence.
As we bid our final farewells, we acknowledge that his influence will persist, guiding us as an inspirational figure and reminding us of the noble work he accomplished in his lifetime.
Richard Olatunde reiterated, Arakunrin Akeredolu peacefully departed this life in his sleep while undergoing treatment for prostate cancer at a German hospital on December 26, 2023, and has since joined the ranks of the heavenly saints.
