The Lagos State Police Command, Ikotun Division, has apprehended two individuals suspected of kidnapping a female secondary school student.
Adamaka Chinyere and Bolajoko Haruna were detected by vigilant community members who promptly alerted the police.
Responding swiftly, police operatives covertly moved into the area and arrested the suspects.
According to Benjamin Hundeyin, the state Public Relations Officer, who disclosed the information via his social media handle, the community’s quick action helped prevent the abduction of the student.
Hundeyin’s tweet stated, Let’s teach our children not to follow strangers! Ikotun Police Division received information from community members about the presence of strange people moving around their neighborhood suspiciously.
He further added, The police moved in discreetly, quickly enough to rescue a female secondary school student they had tricked into their car and abducted.
The suspects, Adamaka Chinyere and Bolajoko Haruna, have been arrested and their tinted Toyota Camry impounded. They are to be arraigned at the conclusion of the investigation.
In a separate incident, operatives from the Sabo Division busted a drug dealer, Orji Isaac, aged 67, while in the act of selling drugs to Lekan Ganiyu, aged 22. Both individuals will face charges following the investigation.
Additionally, the police arrested Okoro, aged 45, and Patience, aged 42, in connection with a ‘one chance’ robbery in Lagos.
The robbery occurred around 6 a.m. on Saturday, with the perpetrators disguising themselves as commercial bus drivers to prey on unsuspecting passengers.
Furthermore, Chris Abu and Paul Philip were apprehended for allegedly vandalizing electricity cables belonging to the Ikeja Electricity Distribution Company Plc.
The vandalism took place on February 18, 2024, around 2:30 p.m., prompting a swift response from law enforcement after a distress call from the Lagos State Electricity Board in Ikeja.
