Professor Jacob Oboreh, the Vice-Chancellor of Delta State University of Science and Technology (DSUST), Ozoro, has appealed for tranquility and comprehension amidst the escalating crisis surrounding the relocation of the Faculty of Management Sciences from Ozoro to Orerokpe.
In a statement released on Wednesday in Ozoro, Prof. Oboreh clarified that the relocation aims to catalyze rapid development within the University of Science and Technology.
He emphasized that the transfer of the Faculty of Management Sciences will not impede the university’s progress, highlighting the creation of 12 new programs within the existing faculties, focused on science and technology.
Furthermore, he announced the approval of three new faculties—Basic Medical Sciences, Pharmacy, and Health Sciences—by the Governor, signaling the state’s commitment to enhancing educational opportunities.
Prof. Oboreh urged the Isoko and Ozoro communities to embrace the relocation positively, assuring equal opportunities for all Deltans in terms of admissions and other considerations.
He highlighted the Isoko people’s consultation with the Governor, who unveiled ambitious plans for the university’s growth.
In conclusion, he called upon all stakeholders to maintain composure and allow the Governor’s comprehensive development agenda to unfold for the nascent University and the broader educational sector in the state.
