Troops from the Nigerian Air Force stationed in Durbunde, Takai Local Government Area of Kano State, have captured a 35-year-old notorious kidnapper identified as Isah Abdul.
Abdul was apprehended on Monday, February 19, around 6:30 pm in Takai, following credible intelligence about the whereabouts of the kidnapper and his accomplices, who had been involved in numerous kidnappings in the region.
According to investigations conducted by security agencies, Abdul and his gang were responsible for the abduction of Yakubu Ibrahim Tagaho, also known as Sarkin Noman Gaya, on April 6, 2023, from Tagaho Village in Takai Local Government Area of Kano.
The victim was released a month later after a ransom of N30 million was paid.
Furthermore, in December 2023, Abdul abducted two sisters and three others from the same village, releasing them after collecting a substantial ransom.
The statement also links Abdul to various other kidnapping activities and suggests his affiliation with other notorious kidnapping gangs, including the Danbul Fulaku gang operating in Takai LGA.
Isah Abdul is currently in the custody of the Nigerian Air Force, undergoing investigation, and will soon be transferred to the appropriate authorities for further legal proceedings.
