The Department of State Services (DSS) has bolstered security at the Federal High Court in Abuja ahead of the resumption of Nnamdi Kanu’s trial.
Following the Court of Appeal’s dismissal of terrorism charges against Kanu and its declaration of his abduction from Kenya as illegal, the Federal Government appealed the ruling to the Supreme Court.
In response, the Supreme Court mandated the continuation of Kanu’s trial on terrorism charges.
As a result, the DSS has intensified security measures at the court premises, subjecting court staff, journalists, and litigants to rigorous security checks.
The increased security presence underscores the government’s seriousness in prosecuting the case and its determination to avert any potential disturbances during the trial proceedings.
