PDP Will Bounce Back In 2027, Says Acting National Chairman Damagum.

The Acting National Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Umar Damagum, has assured members that the party will recover and succeed in the 2027 elections.

Damagum gave this assurance during an event in Umuahia celebrating the 76th birthday of Adolphus Wabara, Chairman of the PDP Board of Trustees.

Damagum stated, With what we are doing, we will come back sound, healthy, and victorious, emphasizing the party’s resolve to regain power in 2027.

He encouraged members to remain resilient despite current challenges.

Peter Mba, Governor of Enugu State and host of the occasion, lauded Wabara’s contributions during the party’s prime years and expressed hope that Wabara’s experience would help revitalize the party.

Seyi Makinde, Governor of Oyo State, also spoke at the event, praising Wabara and expressing confidence that the PDP would lead the next government.

Makinde highlighted the importance of the South East to Nigeria and urged the zone’s residents not to be discouraged.

Abia State Governor, Alex Otti, called for a minute of silence for five soldiers killed in Aba and described Wabara as a commendable figure.

He assured that security agencies would address the criminal elements responsible for the incident.

Senator Wabara, in his appreciation speech, described the PDP as a family and expressed optimism that those who had left the party would return within the next few years.

The event was attended by several notable figures, including the Governors of Bauchi and Edo, Senator Bala Mohammed and Godwin Obaseki, as well as members of the PDP Board of Trustees and National Working Committee.
