Osun State Governor Adeleke believes that devolving power and responsibilities to states is the solution to Nigeria’s economic crisis. Speaking at Adeleke University’s convocation ceremony, he urged graduating students to view the current economic hardships as opportunities to become entrepreneurs.
Governor Adeleke emphasized that while the federal and state governments are collaborating to address economic challenges, further centralization of duties could exacerbate the situation.
He advocated for economic federalism, allowing states to manage more items on the exclusive legislative list, which would promote sub-national prosperity, job creation, and local capacity building.
The Vice-Chancellor of Adeleke University, Professor Solomon Adebola, also addressed the gathering, congratulating the 976 undergraduate and 116 postgraduate students who graduated with various degrees.
