Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu has urged citizens and residents to come together in rebuilding the foundations of Lagos and Nigeria.
Speaking during the 64th National Independence Day Celebration, Sanwo-Olu, represented by Deputy Chief of Staff Sam Egube, stressed the need for collective responsibility in nation-building, emphasizing that focusing solely on individual rights is not enough.
We must prioritize our responsibilities in contributing to the nation’s rebuilding efforts, Sanwo-Olu stated. He outlined his administration’s transformative initiatives aimed at boosting the economy and fostering growth for future generations.
Bishop Jeremiah Adeyemi, the guest preacher at the Interdenominational Service, reinforced the governor’s message, urging Lagosians and Nigerians to unite in humility, prayer, and focus, and prophesied that God would guide Nigeria’s reconstruction.
Commissioner for Home Affairs Ibrahim Layode assured citizens of the government’s dedication to delivering the dividends of democracy through various people-oriented programs.
The Independence Anniversary event was attended by high-ranking government officials, military and paramilitary personnel, as well as representatives from professional and religious organizations.
