The Abia State Government, in response to allegations of wrongdoing in the Nursing PTS exam, has decided to cancel the results.
A thorough investigation is underway, with a commitment to transparency. A new exam will be conducted soon, as the government sets up a committee to address the integrity concerns raised.
Fast-Tracking Certificates of Occupancy (C of O)
In a surprising twist, the cancellation comes with a silver lining: obtaining a Certificate of Occupancy in Abia State will now take just 30 days.
This announcement was made by the Commissioner for Information, Prince Okey Kanu, during a press briefing in Umuahia. The move aligns with Governor Alex Otti’s anti-corruption agenda and commitment to revamping the system.
Road Infrastructure Updates
Amidst the exam controversy, the Information Commissioner shared positive news about road infrastructure.
Significant repairs are underway in Aba, Umuahia, and other parts of the state, with completed roads ready for use.
Additionally, the Aba-Port Harcourt Expressway is set to have at least one open lane from Aba to Obigbo before Christmas—a timely gift for residents and travelers alike.
Efficient Certificate of Occupancy Process
In an effort to build trust and streamline processes, the government aims to issue Certificates of Occupancy within a swift 30-day period from the date of application.
This initiative reflects the Otti-led administration’s commitment to modernizing and improving the state’s overall governance.
