The Court of Appeal, Lagos, in a 2 to 1 split judgment last Friday, upheld Abiodun as Ogun State’s duly elected governor in the March 18 poll.
The majority judgment dismissed Adebutu’s appeal, while the minority judgment ordered a fresh election within 90 days.
Abiodun sees this as the third electoral victory, emphasizing the triumph for democracy, the rule of law, and the judiciary.
He urges opponents to cease seeking favorable judgments across multiple courts and join hands in building Ogun State’s future.
Adebutu remains optimistic, vowing to retrieve his mandate at the Supreme Court. Abiodun, unfazed, focuses on delivering democratic dividends, highlighting that five out of six judges ruled in his favor.
