Access Bank’s acquisition of Atlas Mara’s Zambian unit is now finalized, according to a corporate filing by Sunday Ekwochi, the company secretary.
With Atlas Mara Zambia becoming a wholly-owned subsidiary of Access Zambia, the goal is to drive economic growth by offering innovative products.
Access Zambia aims to integrate Atlas Mara Zambia into its operations, aspiring to be one of Zambia’s top five banks by total assets, with a goal to reach the top three by 2027.
Herbert Wigwe, GCEO of Access Holdings, anticipates setting best practices in Zambia, while Roosevelt Ogbonna, MD/CEO of Access Bank, sees this as a significant milestone towards becoming a respected African bank.
