Residents in Ibadan’s Jogor Centre protest the reported assault of a 17-year-old boy who recently returned from the United States.
The incident, occurring on December 27, 2023, involved up to five policemen stopping the boy and another person on a bike.
Eyewitnesses, now vocal about the incident, claim the assault was unprovoked, leading to hospitalization for the victim and his brother.
The police officers allegedly labeled the boy a fraudster based on his appearance. Videos and pictures have emerged, prompting calls for investigation and intervention by the Oyo State Police.
The police have urged the victims to submit a petition for a swift investigation.
