Sporting CP coach Ruben Amorim has addressed the speculation surrounding his potential takeover from Manchester United’s struggling manager, Erik ten Hag.

Following their 4-2 victory against Farense in the Portuguese Cup, Amorim stated that he has not received any contact from the English club.

Amorim emphasized, I won’t reiterate what I mentioned last year. I won’t make comments on these situations. Regarding the future, I have a plan for the end of the season, but I’m not ready to disclose it at this time. Results and circumstances can alter things, and I prefer not to delve into these matters. Manchester United has not reached out to me.

Despite reports of a €10 million release clause in Amorim’s contract, he has expressed his commitment to Sporting CP and his desire to honor that commitment.

Another name connected to the Manchester United job is former Real Madrid coach Zinedine Zidane, who has been without a team since departing from the Spanish giants in 2021.
