The APC alleges that Gov. Siminalayi Fubara’s 2024 budget presentation to four loyal lawmakers violates Section 120(2) of the Constitution, arguing that funds cannot be spent without state House of Assembly appropriation.
The party, through Tony Okocha, warns of potential impeachment for constitutional infringement and questions the legitimacy of Speaker Martins Amaewhule’s removal.
Okocha emphasizes that a quorum of 11 members is required, challenging the validity of the presentation to only four lawmakers and citing constitutional sections empowering the House to regulate its procedures independently.
