In Sunday’s El Clasico at the Olympic Stadium, Barcelona secured a commanding 5-0 victory over Real Madrid, with Asisat Oshoala, the super falcons player and recent UEFA Women’s Champions League Goal of the Week awardee, remaining on the bench as an unused substitute.

Despite Oshoala’s absence from the action, Barcelona women extended their winning streak over Real Madrid to 12 victories, maintaining an undefeated record in ‘Clasico’ matchups.

The win also propelled Barcelona to a six-point lead at the top of the league standings, further solidifying their dominance.

Missing the injured Alexia Putellas made no difference as Barcelona won their ninth consecutive game this season.

Real Madrid, in second place with two defeats, struggled to contain Barcelona’s onslaught.

Aitana Bonmati, Caroline Graham Hansen, and Mariona Caldentey scored for Barcelona in the first half, securing a 3-0 lead.

Although Real managed to hold off further goals in the second half, Barcelona sealed the victory with stoppage-time goals from Claudia Pina and 17-year-old Vicky Lopez, who became the youngest goal scorer in El Clasico.

This triumph marked Barcelona’s 67th consecutive home win in the league, extending an impressive streak that began in February 2019.
